Jonathan Otto is an investigative journalist, documentary filmmaker, natural health researcher, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of RedLife, a red light therapy company built around cellular energy, inflammation, and natural healing, and of Well Of Life, a natural supplement company. His work sits at the intersection of journalism and health education: interviewing the practitioners and researchers most people never hear from, then translating what they say into something an ordinary person can act on at home. He is also the author of Cancer Off Switch.

Otto has interviewed hundreds of medical doctors, scientists, and natural health experts, and produced more than 20 health documentary series watched by millions. Those projects include Cancer Decoded, Cancer Secrets, Healing Genesis, Disease in Reverse, Autoimmune Secrets, Natural Medicine Secrets, COVID Secrets, Vaccine Secrets, and Healing Revolution. He served as a producer on The Truth About Cancer and The Truth About Vaccines. He grew up in Newcastle, Australia, and came to this work through his own illness — Lyme disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, Epstein-Barr, and more — which forced him out of full-time work in his early twenties.

On The Daily Mastermind, Jonathan sat down with George Wright III for a direct conversation about cellular health, red light therapy, and why exhaustion is not a badge of honor. He explains why chronic fatigue, brain fog, vision decline, and anxiety often trace back to dysfunctional mitochondria rather than separate diseases, walks through how red and near-infrared light drive ATP production, and covers the specifics most people get wrong — wavelength, flicker rate, timing, and eye exposure. He also answers George's question about urine therapy without flinching.

Key Insights

Key takeaways from Jonathan

01
Most unrelated symptoms trace back to the same cellular problem.
Chronic pain, memory loss, worsening vision, thyroid dysfunction, and low libido often share one root: cells and mitochondria that are not functioning correctly. Otto's argument is to stop chasing symptoms individually and address energy production at the cellular level instead.
02
Red light works like a tuning fork for your cells.
When red and near-infrared light reach the chromophores in your mitochondria, cells produce ATP — the basic unit of cellular energy. Otto describes the effect as a frequency sent through the body that helps normalize function, which matters more given constant Wi-Fi and EMF interference.
03
Three minutes of morning red light improved eyesight by 17 percent — afternoon did nothing.
Otto cites a University College London study where people over 40 looked directly into 670-nanometer red light for three minutes in the morning. Timing was the variable. He recommends keeping your eyes open during short sessions rather than reaching for goggles.
04
Flicker rate, not color, is what does the damage.
Otto breaks device quality down to wavelength and steadiness. Red and near-infrared penetrate deepest; blue stays shallow and supports circadian rhythm and skin when the source is steady. He suggests using AI tools to pull peer-reviewed studies on your specific condition, including dosage and timing.
05
Your family doesn't want you to die for them. They want you to live for them.
Otto pushes back hard on glorifying exhaustion. He cites studies showing measurable improvement in depression symptoms within an hour of red light exposure, and points to his wife's 87-year-old grandmother, who now uses a device twice daily after a fall requiring 16 stitches.
