About Blake Erickson
Blake Erickson is a partner at Scaling.com, a TEDx alumnus, and the co-author of The Science of Scaling with Dr. Benjamin Hardy. He built and operated several businesses before spending four years helping scale a door-to-door sales organization into an eight-figure company. Along the way he recruited, trained, and led more than 1,200 people, with most of that work centered on leadership, recruiting, and building high-performance teams. When his businesses no longer needed him day to day, he sold them — along with his real estate portfolio — and stepped away from his podcast to go all-in on one thing.
That decision took Scaling.com to $10 million in ARR in its first eight months. Today Blake and his team advise more than 500 companies, from $500,000 businesses to $10 billion enterprises, and their work centers on the founder rather than the org chart. He speaks professionally, having presented to organizations including Vistage, Entrepreneurs' Organization, YPO, Keller Williams, and Direct Selling University. His next book, Power Law Strategy, arrives in January and argues that one or two things in a business create 99% of the results.
On The Daily Mastermind, Blake sat down with George Wright III to draw a hard line between growth and scale — why 10X is a simpler game than 10%. The conversation covers the three-by-five card he wrote at 20, the popcorn company that went from 200 stores to 26,000 through a single partnership, and the moment he handed the CEO title to someone who had already built a nine-figure company. It also covers Scaling.com's own $12 million plateau and the weekly meeting they built to make sure it doesn't happen twice.
