Welcome back to the Daily Mastermind, George Wright III here with your daily dose of inspiration, motivation, and education. We've got a super full week planned for you. This week we're gonna be doing whatever we can to help you to unleash your true potential and grow on a personal level, and also grow your business, your success, your lifestyle, everything that it is you're trying to create in your life.
And so we're gonna be talking about how to grow your mind, your body, your finances, your money, your business, and even your lifestyle.
So today we're gonna be talking about mindset, and I want you to start with the Mastermind quote of the day. It's from Marcus Garvey. The quote is, If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life.
If you have no confidence in self, you're twice defeated in the race of life. And I think that's a great quote because it also sets up the topic for today, which is confidence.
Confidence is something that so many people have been asking about lately—how do you create more confidence? How do you increase your confidence in business, in life, and in relationships?
The bottom line is confidence is going to help you get results and achieve more success. It's going to help you step into your fears. It's going to help you move beyond your comfort zone. And at the end of the day, confidence is just a belief in yourself.
It's that conviction that you have the ability to meet life's challenges and succeed. It's the willingness to act as though you believe in yourself until that belief is real. Being confident is a sense of your own personal, internal capability and self-worth. Developing confidence is something you must have as a core principle in your life.
Being confident helps you to make instant connections and build relationships so that you can effectively handle conflict. Projecting confidence adds credibility, strengthens first impressions, and helps you tackle challenges under pressure. It’s also attractive. You know what it’s like when you’re around confident people—they inspire, they uplift, and they’re the ones you look up to.
So what keeps us from being confident? I believe there are six major factors that erode confidence.
First, limiting beliefs. What you tell yourself shapes your confidence. “This always happens to me.” “I’m never good at that.” These conscious or subconscious beliefs about money, success, or your own worth wear away at confidence.
Second, expectations. When you set unrealistic expectations, you set yourself up for losses. Those losses cut at your confidence. It’s not about lowering standards—it’s about balancing expectations with reality so that you don’t chip away at your belief in yourself.
Third, your social circle. If you’re surrounded by negative people, doubters, or people who don’t support you, their influence will eventually weaken your confidence.
Fourth, past failures. Dwelling on mistakes erodes confidence. Failures should be lessons, not stories you replay that keep you stuck.
Fifth, lack of knowledge. Without building skill, you invite uncertainty. And uncertainty breeds fear. When you lack knowledge, you will lack confidence—period.
And sixth, fear of the unknown. The unknown can be paralyzing, and it silently kills confidence.
Identifying these factors is just as important as learning how to build confidence. If you don’t remove what’s eating away at it, you’ll always struggle to grow it.
Now let’s shift to principles that will help you build confidence. Confidence isn’t just something you wait to “feel.” It’s something you can create, train, and strengthen.
One of the best ways is to learn how to change your state—your physical, mental, and emotional state. Your state is the mood or energy you’re in at any moment, and you can influence it.
First, your body language. Your posture affects you emotionally and mentally. Confident people stand tall, shoulders back, walking with presence. Just taking a strong physical stance—like the “superman pose”—can instantly shift your state into confidence.
Second, positivity. Your attitude and perspective fuel your confidence. If you adopt a mindset that every challenge has a win, you naturally become more confident.
Third, emotional control. Identify and discipline your key emotions. Channel excitement, passion, and drive. When you’re in control of your emotions, your confidence rises.
Fourth, a growth mindset. Remember the difficulties you’ve already overcome. Even if it was hard, you made it through. That belief—that you can figure it out, no matter what—will give you a state of confidence.
Fifth, staying inside your unique talents. When you focus on what you’re passionate about and skilled at, you’ll naturally project confidence.
Confidence is not just important for creating success—it’s critical for creating happiness, fulfillment, and your best life. When you identify what’s draining your confidence and apply techniques to strengthen it, you start to project it. And here’s the powerful truth: once you start projecting confidence, your brain will reprogram itself to believe it. Acting confident will make you truly confident.
