You don’t rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your habits.
Good Monday. Here’s what I keep coming back to: motivation is a terrible business partner — it shows up late and leaves early. Habits don’t care how you feel, and that’s exactly why they work. One great day changes nothing; what you repeat is what you become.
So this week, pick one small habit, attach it to something you already do every day, and give it 30 days. Your life is being built daily whether you do it on purpose or not. Let’s do it on purpose. — George
From this week’s solo sessions with George.
Redesign the loop, not the outcome. Every habit runs the same three-part loop — cue, routine, reward. You can’t white-knuckle your way to change, but you can change the cue and stack the new behavior onto one you already own (after coffee, journal; after the workout, review your goals).
Environment beats willpower — nearly every time. Make the good habit obvious and easy; make the bad one hard. If your phone distracts you, put it in another room. You rarely out-discipline your surroundings.
Your identity is the ceiling. “The life you have always reflects the version of yourself you believe you are.” Change the results without changing the self-image and the results won’t stick. Decide who you’re becoming first, then let the behavior follow.
Missing once isn’t failure — stopping is. Every follow-through is a vote for the person you’re becoming. Miss a day, fine. Just don’t miss twice.
Tucker Bern
29-year-old CEO of an AI automation firm and head of a nine-figure family office — on using AI to actually run a business, not just talk about it.
Tucker’s take is refreshingly un-hyped: most owners are using maybe 10% of what AI can already do — not because the tools are weak, but because they’re paralyzed by choice. His fix is a mental model borrowed from golf.
“You don’t keep the question in your head and just take your shot. You ask your caddie — ‘seven iron here?’ — and let the outside perspective make the call.”
Three things worth stealing from the conversation:
- Start at the most boring task you do. Email triage, report generation, meeting prep. Automate the repetitive layer first — that’s where the hours hide.
- Stop pre-filtering your questions. If you’re wondering whether AI could help, that hesitation is the productivity you’re leaving on the table. Just ask it.
- It’s an amplifier, not a replacement. Tucker aims for 20% more output per person and is seeing far more — a friend with zero coding experience built a working lead-gen app in two and a half days.
