The Power of Daily Consistency

Listen

Somewhere around the end of January, a quiet question starts nagging at most people: *am I actually getting the results I want this year?* If the honest answer is no, the instinct is to stop and think harder about it. In this solo episode of The Daily Mastermind, George Wright III makes the case that thinking isn't the problem-solver you believe it is — and that the power of daily consistency, not clarity, is what actually moves your life forward.

This is a message about one single strategy that can change your results: building a daily ritual you refuse to negotiate with. Not a new goal, not a better plan, not a clever tactic. Consistency — and the habit structure that makes consistency possible when your motivation runs out.

Why Thinking Won't Give You the Answer — But Action Will

Before you can build consistency, George asks you to sit with a few uncomfortable questions. How are you doing so far this year? Are you getting the results you want? And if not — what exactly are you feeling? A lack of clarity? Results that don't match the effort? Activities in your business or life that drain you instead of energizing you? A missing sense of passion or purpose?

Then the harder question: what's holding you back? It may be the people you're surrounding yourself with. It may be the path itself. Or it may be that you're stuck on the mental treadmill — constantly analyzing, constantly trying to figure out the next move, and never actually moving. "Thinking is not going to create the solutions," George says. Action does. When you try to think your way to the answer, you lose perspective on the bigger picture and mistake mental effort for progress.

You find your answers on the way to getting results. You don't find the answers to get results.

George calls this progress to perfection — the idea that productivity and forward motion are the point, not flawless execution. You don't need the complete map before you take a step. That one shift takes enormous pressure off, because it means being stuck isn't an information problem. It's a movement problem.

Consistency Beats Decisions and Commitments

Most personal development advice stops at decision and commitment. George stacks them in order of power. Making a decision to change your life matters. Making a commitment to that decision matters more. But what trumps both is consistency — because consistency is what carries you through the days when motivation simply isn't there.

And the only way to stay consistent is to make it a habit. "Without consistency, your will, your motivation — it can't sustain," he explains, "because you're going to have days you don't feel like doing things." Willpower is a terrible long-term strategy. Habits are a system that works whether you feel inspired or not.

Turn It Into a Non-Negotiable Daily Ritual

Habits require boundaries and parameters — what George calls daily rituals. Non-negotiables. For him, it's the bookends of the day: five to ten minutes in the morning and again at night, focused on mind, body, money, business, and lifestyle. That's literally why it's called the *daily* mastermind. It isn't a one-time breakthrough. It's a daily, consistent effort to build your best life.

Find the One Thing That Knocks Down Every Other Domino

George points back to Gary Keller's book *The One Thing* and its central image: find the single domino that, once you knock it down, knocks down all the others. What's the one thing that, if you do it, makes everything else happen — or makes everything else irrelevant?

For years, George thought his domino was the morning workout. It got his mind and body going, and the rest of the day tended to follow. But digging deeper, he realized the real catalyst was podcasts. Listening in the morning turned his mind on and pointed it in a positive direction. Some mornings that means David Goggins and something hardcore. Other mornings it's Joel Osteen and something more laid back. The point isn't the source — it's the ritual.

This is also why masterminding is such a powerful domino. You can mastermind with the top minds in the world from your kitchen, absorbing ideas, strategies, and perspective. And critically, you don't have to do all of it. So many of us pile on pressure — journaling, prayer, meditation, workouts, nutrition, mindset work — when the real move is knowing yourself well enough to identify your one thing and protect it.

Find the one thing that you can create consistency with, and know yourself.

Why Timing Matters More Than the Perfect Idea

One of the most freeing points in this episode: it only takes one key thought or idea to create a breakthrough — but that idea has to line up with the right timing. George describes hearing certain ideas over and over for years before one day they finally landed. Referencing Wayne Dyer's image of looking back on the tapestry of your life, he notes that it often wasn't the idea that changed everything. It was the timing.

You can't control timing. You *can* control how often you show up. Consistency is what puts you in the room when the timing is finally right. As George puts it, most of the solutions you need are already inside you — they just haven't been triggered or pulled out yet.

His final piece of advice: take the focus off yourself and place it on something outside of yourself. Your mission, your purpose, other people. When the focus is on you, that's when self-limiting beliefs, imposter syndrome, and negative emotion take over. Pointing your attention outward is what keeps you consistent.

Action Steps

  • Do an honest check-in: name what you're feeling about this year and what specifically is holding you back.
  • Stop trying to think your way to an answer. Pick one action you can take today and let the answers show up along the way.
  • Identify your one thing — the domino that starts the rest of your day right. For George it's daily masterminding through podcasts.
  • Build it into a non-negotiable daily ritual with real boundaries, and prepare the night before so you act in spite of your mood.
  • Shift your focus off yourself and onto your mission, purpose, or the people you serve.

Stop looking for the end goal and start thinking about the consistency of the path. Show up daily, protect your one thing, and let timing do its work — because it's never too late to start living the life you were meant to live.

All right. Welcome back to the daily mastermind George Wright III [00:00:10] with your daily dose of inspiration, motivation, and education. And today I want to talk to you about [00:00:15] the one thing I think you can do to really change the results you're getting in your life. In other [00:00:20] words, one single strategy. That can change everything. But before we start talking [00:00:25] about that, I want to ask you a question. How are you doing so far this year? You [00:00:30] know, sometimes we just get on, I kind of riff with strategies and ideas and tactics. [00:00:35] Different formulas and things that you can use for success. But I really want to ask you, and I want you to really ask [00:00:40] yourself this question. Are you getting the results that you want in your life so [00:00:45] far this year, we're getting towards the end of January. And I know some of you have actually [00:00:50] reached out to me and said that you're feeling kind of stuck. You're not feeling very productive. You're not as far [00:00:55] along as you think you should have been. You're not quite sure why, but I [00:01:00] want you to ask yourself the question. You know, how are you doing? And what is the reason [00:01:05] that you're feeling the way that you're feeling? You know, I want you to ask yourself. [00:01:10] What is it that you're feeling. Are you feeling a lack of clarity? Are you [00:01:15] feeling like your results are not where you want them to be? Are you not happy with the type of [00:01:20] things that you're doing? Maybe the activities that you have in your business or in your, [00:01:25] in your life in general? What is it that's making you feel this way? What is [00:01:30] it that you're feeling. Are you feeling that lack of passion or purpose? Maybe you're not motivated. [00:01:35] Maybe you're, you're not sure if you're on the right direction or not, or the right path [00:01:40] towards, uh, you know, accomplishing and creating the goal that you want and the life that you want to live. [00:01:45] But really, I also want you to ask yourself, what is it that's holding you back. Why [00:01:50] aren't you getting the results that you need to get? Now I want you to ask yourself that question, [00:01:55] because it could be the people that you're surrounding yourself with. It could be [00:02:00] that it's more than just the path that you're on. [00:02:05] Maybe it's something that you need to do. That's a little bit different. Maybe you don't know what the answer is. [00:02:10] Maybe you're looking for solutions and answers, or you're just caught up in that treadmill. In [00:02:15] your mind, you know, you know what I'm talking about, the one where you just constantly. Thinking and [00:02:20] analyzing and trying to figure out what to do. But I want to ask. I. I want you to ask yourself that [00:02:25] question, because I also want to point out a couple of things. First of all. I found [00:02:30] out in my life that thinking is not going to create the solutions. most of the [00:02:35] time it's action. That's going to help you to do that. So, so many times we sit down and we think [00:02:40] I'm going to figure out what I need to do next. I need to figure out what it is. That's holding me back. I need to [00:02:45] figure out what I need to do differently. Well, who I need to surround myself with what thing I need to [00:02:50] be working on. And what we're doing is we're losing track. Of the [00:02:55] real picture. We really don't have perspective. And so we've got to remind ourselves that [00:03:00] progress to perfection. Is the key. Not [00:03:05] perfectly achieving, but achieving to perfection. And what I [00:03:10] mean by that is that progress is the key productivity is the key... [00:03:15] taking action is the key. You find your answers on the way [00:03:20] to getting results, you don't find the answers to get results. Does that make [00:03:25] sense? And so I want to talk to you about what I believe is probably. One [00:03:30] of the best strategies that you can apply. And that's this idea of the mastermind. It's the reason [00:03:35] it's the solution. And the reason that I created the daily mastermind, I created the daily mastermind. [00:03:40] For myself. So that I could find ways to have daily focus [00:03:45] on what matters most. You know, I talked about that a little bit on the new Franklin planner [00:03:50] podcasts that we're launching. I did a strategic Alliance with the Franklin planner [00:03:55] organization. And it gave me some great reminders that. You've got to [00:04:00] find ways to create daily focus on what matters most. [00:04:05] And so the purpose of the mastermind for me was to have a time and a place that I could go [00:04:10] for five to 10 minutes and focus on mind, body, money, business, creating the life and [00:04:15] the lifestyle that I want to create to start my day. For me, it was starting the day. [00:04:20] It's the bookends of starting the day and ending the day, right. That really helped me to feel [00:04:25] fulfilled. Passionate purpose filled. And so my experience [00:04:30] was, and I'll just give you kind of a little bit of feedback for me that it was podcasts. Podcasts we're [00:04:35] away for me to just jump in. And start listening and hearing and [00:04:40] associating and creating my own mastermind. See, that's one of the benefits we have nowadays that you [00:04:45] forget about. We have the benefit that we can actually mastermind with some of the [00:04:50] top minds, the top ideas, the top solutions we can gain more [00:04:55] perspective. So I started listening to podcasts in the mornings. And, you know, I wasn't, [00:05:00] maybe, maybe I started out looking for some particular solutions. And there are [00:05:05] days when I have my list of top podcasts. I'll kind of shuffle through whether it's work or [00:05:10] business or, you know, it might be, you know, perspective, spirituality, mindfulness. [00:05:15] But the ideas, and solutions, and perspective that came from podcasts were really helpful [00:05:20] for me. And what I learned is that. Most of the answers that I got [00:05:25] were not ones I was looking for. You know, even just this morning, for example, I listened to a podcast from [00:05:30] Russell Brunson and all he was doing was really giving his perspective. On what some things are [00:05:35] that he's gone through. And so when you create a mastermind, when you [00:05:40] create this, and that's why I have this daily mastermind. Is that you can find ways to [00:05:45] relate. Not just get strategies and tactics, but relate to what's happening in [00:05:50] your life. And I created the mastermind in order to give you [00:05:55] strategies, tips, inspiration, motivation for mind, body, money, business, and lifestyle, [00:06:00] because those are all areas. The core areas that I feel will help bring you more fulfillment. [00:06:05] And create the life that you were meant to live. Because remember the [00:06:10] randomness of these topics also can line up with. [00:06:15] Timing. You know, the timing of what you're going to have. And what you're going to do is, is super, super [00:06:20] important because sometimes you don't know what you're looking for. But the [00:06:25] timing and the things. Line up. And so all of these core areas are [00:06:30] important and the mastermind provides reminders, and lessons, and mentorship. The ideas that [00:06:35] I have for 25 years, I've been around some of the biggest thought leaders. And experts out there and I want to [00:06:40] share some of those ideas and things with you, but more important than anything. It's [00:06:45] about timing. Sometimes those things will line up. In the [00:06:50] right time for you. And so the key to be able to find ways [00:06:55] like the daily mastermind, to be able to help you to create progress to perfection. [00:07:00] Is to create habits around a daily ritual. Because [00:07:05] (consistency) is the most important thing. Let me explain to you what I mean. We all need to make decisions and commitments to [00:07:10] achieve our best life. You've made a decision. You want to accomplish something in your life. And [00:07:15] hopefully you've made a commitment to, to do that because making a [00:07:20] decision is not enough. We know that making a commitment to your decision is far more important. But, what [00:07:25] trumps all of that. Is consistency. Consistency is really the [00:07:30] key. To persevering and creating results in the [00:07:35] end. But the only way you can stay consistent is to make a habit of it. Without [00:07:40] consistency, your will, your motivation. It can't maintain it. Can't [00:07:45] sustain because you're going to have days you don't feel like doing things. So habits will [00:07:50] create consistency. As you can see, that's why I call it the daily mastermind. I have [00:07:55] worldwide trademarks to daily mastermind because I believe it's a daily, consistent effort [00:08:00] you need to put in in order to create your best life. But I'm here to tell you that it [00:08:05] takes creating a habit. And that means you've got to create boundaries. You've got to [00:08:10] create parameters in your life that are non-negotiables. And I like to [00:08:15] call those daily rituals. Um, you know, the, the, the book by Gary [00:08:20] Keller called the one thing is one that I refer back to many times. And the one thing [00:08:25] talks about the idea that you need to find the one domino. That if you can knock that down, [00:08:30] we'll knock down all the other dominoes. If you know what I'm talking about from that analogy. In other words, what's the [00:08:35] one thing that if you do it, It makes everything else. [00:08:40] Happen or everything else? Irrelevant. And, you know, I used to think, for example, [00:08:45] for myself, it was a workout in the morning. The workouts would get my mind going and get my body going. And, [00:08:50] you know, when I was feeling good about myself, you know, even more things would go right during the day. But as I [00:08:55] dug a little bit deeper, I realized, and that's why I told you I started to double down on [00:09:00] podcasts because. The podcasts were actually a catalyst, a domino [00:09:05] to help me. Start turning on my mind, getting positive. So sometimes, you know, things [00:09:10] outside of ourselves, right? Listening to, you know, experts and mentors and motivators. Some, [00:09:15] some mornings, it might be David Goggins. You know, it was, you know, really hardcore and, and other mornings, it might be like a [00:09:20] Joel Olsteen or someone that's a little bit more laid back. But when you're prepared, because [00:09:25] you have to know and you have to prepare yourself. That's another suggestion. I have find ways to be [00:09:30] prepared ahead of time. So when you don't feel like it, you will act in spite of your mood. But [00:09:35] find the one thing that you can create consistency with and know yourself. [00:09:40] So many of us are putting this big, you know, pressure on ourselves to do [00:09:45] mindset journal. You know, prayer, meditation, workout, meals, nutrition, all these [00:09:50] things. When you need to find that one thing now, for me, it was the daily mastermind. [00:09:55] For many of you, it's the same thing. It's being able to just associate with. Someone, [00:10:00] something, ideas, strategies, things that will take you to the next level. And [00:10:05] so. I really believe that if you will re. If you'll tune [00:10:10] into some form of masterminding, whether it's podcast, whether it's the daily mastermind, [00:10:15] whether it's individuals in your life. And create some consistency around that ritual, [00:10:20] that one thing. That you'll start to see a lot of changes in your life. And I [00:10:25] want you to remind yourself that it's not finding the answer it's progressing [00:10:30] and being productive and active and consistent. And you'll find the [00:10:35] answers along the way. So remember that, and this is so here's the, here's my final reminder: for you. This [00:10:40] morning It only takes one key thought or idea to have a breakthrough. [00:10:45] One key thought or I did have a breakthrough, might be a daily breakthrough. It might be in your life. It [00:10:50] might be in the year. But that that right idea or key thought has to [00:10:55] line up with the timing as well. And the only way you can have that happen [00:11:00] is through consistency. Sometimes I've heard ideas over and over and [00:11:05] over again, maybe, you know what I'm talking about. And, but, but when the timing was [00:11:10] right. It resonated. And when I look back on that, like Wayne Dyer talks about looking back on the [00:11:15] tapestry of your life. It gave meaning to the fact that it was the timing that really made it [00:11:20] happen. It wasn't the idea. And so stop getting caught up with the ideas and [00:11:25] start working on consistency. And the one thing that will help you to [00:11:30] go to the next level. And I truly believe the mastermind is one of those things because being in a [00:11:35] mastermind, whether it's the daily mastermind, you know, our online mastermind, whether it's your own [00:11:40] personal mastermind in your area, It's the influence of others, the influence of ideas and [00:11:45] strategies and timing that will keep you consistent. We'll allow you to [00:11:50] persevere. And tell you find the solutions and strategies, because I truly [00:11:55] believe that most of the solutions that you need, you already have inside you, they just have not [00:12:00] been triggered yet. They've been not pulled out yet. You haven't had the right timing happen yet. So the [00:12:05] final thing I'm going to leave you with is take the focus off yourself. And place it on something [00:12:10] outside of yourself. That will help you to stay consistent. Maybe it's your [00:12:15] mission. Maybe it's a purpose. Maybe it's other people. But most of the time, When [00:12:20] you're focused on you, that's when you're caught up in all those negative emotions or the things that hold [00:12:25] you back, or the self limiting beliefs or the, you know, imposter syndrome or whatever it is. [00:12:30] Take the focus off yourself and find a way to create daily rituals [00:12:35] that keep you consistent. And I promise you, you will start seeing results. Stop [00:12:40] looking for the end goal. Start thinking about the consistency of the path. That's my message for you today. [00:12:45] I hope you have an amazing day. Do me a favor. And, um, actually if you haven't already go head over to the [00:12:50] apple or the Android store and download the evolution X mastermind mobile app, [00:12:55] it's free. The evolution X mastermind, mobile app. It's a new mobile app that we're [00:13:00] launching. That is a free mastermind. Now we'll have some paid sections of that. If you want [00:13:05] to join our academy or a mentoring, things like that. But, but there is going to be a ton of resources in [00:13:10] there access to both, or actually two or three of our podcasts, a lot of courses, free [00:13:15] authority, marketing stuff. There's a ton of things there. I hope that that whether it's the daily mastermind [00:13:20] or the evolution X mastermind, mobile app will be some resources that will help you. [00:13:25] And that's why I do it. So I'll be, have an amazing day share this show. It would mean a lot to me and I [00:13:30] appreciate. You and I'll talk with you more tomorrow. [00:13:35] [00:13:40]
