What's up, guys? Welcome back to "The Daily Mastermind." I wanna hit you with a thought first thing this morning. I've been thinking about this for a while, and I think a lot of us are negotiating and compromising our lives right out of the very vision that we're trying to go for. I want you to think about that for a minute. Every time you negotiate with yourself, your future is losing. That's what I wanna talk to you about today. Uh, for those of you just joining, my name's George Wright III, and I am your host. And, you know, "The Daily Mastermind" was brought to you in order to help you to get that extra inspiration, motivation, and education on a day-to-day basis to create clarity, focus, and discipline in your life. Make no mistake, that is the reason that I started "The Daily Mastermind" for myself, and it's why I do it for you. So whether it's solo episodes or whether it's interviews, it's designed to help you to create your best life and to grow into the version of yourself that is the [00:01:00] ideal version, the one that you were meant to live, the, the life that you were meant to live. And so one of those topics that's gonna help you to do that is this idea that we're constantly negotiating with ourselves, and as a result, your future life, the one you're trying to create, is losing. I want you to think about that for a minute. Every time you tell yourself you're gonna get up early and you hit snooze, every single time you promise to go to the gym and you decide you're gonna go tomorrow, you know, every time you say you'll make that sales call or write the proposal, launch the business, have the conversation, and, and, and, and put it off, you don't do it, you're not just delaying a task. You're not just procrastinating. You're negotiating with yourself. And every time you negotiate with yourself, your future pays the price. Now, one of the greatest lessons I've learned as an entrepreneur is that success isn't determined by the promises you make. It's determined by the promises you keep to yourself. Anybody can make a commitment when they're motivated. That's why, you know, I've done events all over the [00:02:00] world, thous- hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people, millions of people actually, at the events that I've done around the world, and everybody says they're interested. Everybody gets excited. Everybody jumps up and down But anybody can set goals and, and, a-and get excited after a conference, you know, a podcast, a message. The real question is this: Who are you when the motivation is gone? Because that's the person who's creating your actual future, that person. The truth is most of us don't realize how often we bargain with ourselves. We negotiate with ourselves. We don't call it negotiating, we call it being tired. We say we're, we're busy, we're, we're waiting for the right time, or, you know, we t- we tell ourselves, here's, here's a good one, "I'll start Monday," or, "How about just this once? You, you can have just one. You know, I deserve a break. I'll make it, I'll make it up tomorrow." None of those statements seem like a big deal. In [00:03:00] fact, they all are pretty reasonable, especially in the moment. That's why they're so powerful, because the biggest threats to your future are not gonna show up as bad decisions. They show up as small compromises that feel completely justified in the moment. "I'm gonna lay back down." Uh, you know, one workout skipped, one call postponed, one hour wasted, one commitment delayed. Individually, they don't seem like a big deal, do they? But repeated over weeks and months and years, these negotiations quietly... Listen to this. These negotiations quietly become your identity Here's what, here's what I've come to believe and know. The real cost isn't the missed workout, and, and it really isn't the unfishin- uh, the unfinished, you know, project. It isn't the opportunity you lost. It's... Listen to me. The real cost is something so much bigger. Every broken promise teaches your mind something. It's [00:04:00] conditioning your mind. It teaches you that your own word is negotiable, that you, you, you can compromise, that, that, that your commitments are optional, that when things become uncomfortable, you'll find a way out. You're training yourself, and once you stop trusting yourself, everything becomes harder. Listen to me. Confidence begins to disappear. Your discipline, it, it becomes a struggle. Your momentum slows down, not because you're incapable, but because you're unintentionally... You're training yourself not to believe your own words. That's why affirmations don't work for most people. Think about that. If someone else repeatedly broke promises to you, would you believe them when they told you something? Would you trust them? Probably not. Yet many of us break promises to ourselves every single day and wonder why our confidence is not growing. Well, listen, self-confidence isn't built by positive thinking. [00:05:00] It's built by proof, by trust, by self-trust. It's earned, you know, one kept promise at a time. That's why high performers don't depend on motivation. They depend on their identity. They become the kind of person who does what they say And say what they do. How you do anything is how you do everything. Not because it's easy, not because they, they always are inspired and motivated, and they just were born that way. Uh, you know, it's because they've decided that their word actually freaking means something, especially to themselves, more importantly to themselves. So here's the shift I want you to make if you want to create your best life. I need you to stop asking yourself, "Do I feel like doing this today?" And take prosperity pillar number three and act in spite of your mood. Because when you say, uh, "Do I feel like doing this today?" That's the wrong question. Feelings, feelings can change by the hour. [00:06:00] Instead, ask yourself, "What did I commit to? What did I say I was gonna do?" Because commitments should lead your emotions, not the other way around. Some days you're gonna feel unstoppable, and some days you'll feel exhausted, and some days you'll be excited, and some days you'll question everything you're doing. But the commitments shouldn't change just because your feelings do. Your future doesn't care how you felt. Your best life doesn't care how, uh, what mood you're in. It responds to what you do. So imagine how different your life would look a year from now if you simply became someone who honored your commitments to yourself. Look, not perfectly. Uh, you know, come on, we're all human. Just consistently. You'll trust yourself more. You'll think differently about yourself. And that identity, listen to me, that identity would begin showing up in every area of your life, your health, your business, your relationships, your leadership. So here's my [00:07:00] challenge to you. Don't try to change your entire life today, okay? You got habits, you got a break. Just identify one promise that you've been negotiating with yourself, one that you, you know you've made, but g- given any Sunday, you know, it, it's not consistent. Maybe it's exercising, maybe it's some kind of sales activity, or it's reading instead of scrolling, or maybe it's, it's having a conversation that you've been avoiding. Whatever it is, keep that promise today. No excuses, no bargaining, no moving the goalposts. Just do what you said you were gonna do. Then tomorrow, do it again. Because every kept promise, you know, frequency, repetition, consistency, every kept promise strengthens your identity. And we're in the game of creating the best identity you could possibly have, 'cause when you got identity behind you you're, you're, you're, you're making it work, man. Every promise that you have, people are going to call you [00:08:00] disciplined. They're going to say you're driven and focused and consistent and, and clear on what you do. What they won't see are the thousands of moments where you simply refused to negotiate with yourself. That is where greatness is built quietly, privately, one decision at a time in your inner game. So the next time you catch yourself saying, I'll do it later, just catch yourself and ask yourself this question. Am I making a decision or am I negotiating with myself? Because your future is listening to you. Your future identity, your future version of yourself is listening. And every decision you make is teaching it. It's teaching it who you are. So stop negotiating. Start honoring your word. Become somebody who trusts yourself completely because when you can trust yourself, there's almost no limit to what you can build. It's like Les Brown said every time I meet with the guy, you have greatness inside of you. [00:09:00] You do. Unleash that potential, man, woman. You know, let's, let's make, let's make the rest of your life the best of your life. Take those setbacks and turn them into, you know, setups for comebacks. Get, get your best life and your best identity in front of you and say, that's who I am. I don't compromise. I don't negotiate with myself. If you'll do that, you're going to feel so good about yourself. You're going to see the results. Things are going to happen for you. That's my message for today. Do me a favor and share this episode. Share it with anybody. If you feel like you got inspired or you got some thoughts out of it or maybe kind of woke you up a little bit, which I hope it did, then, then share the episode and then go head over to Daily Mastermind, the website, dailymastermind.com.
