The purpose to me is, and what we're trying to guide in this, is creating a community for women, for growth, for development, for clarity, for purpose. And I feel like oftentimes women feel, like I've said, stuck. That's what Yes Women's is about, is to help women recognize what their passions are and to have that direction, that support, that community. And I think it's an important role that we can play for women to feel that kind of community going forward, whether personal or professional. Welcome back to The Daily Mastermind. George Wright III with your daily dose of inspiration, motivation, and education. We're actually on the set of the Yes Women's Network. So I'm super excited about today. Michelle Morley is with me. How are you doing? I'm great. Thanks for having me. Thanks for having me on your set in the studio. This is kind of cool. So this is a Daily Mastermind episode. And for those of you first time listening, make sure that you do me a favor and subscribe to the show. You don't want to miss anything. We're going to be releasing the new daily newsletter that's going to come out once a week from the Daily Mastermind. It's the Prosperity Report. And we have a whole bunch of new guests. And today we're going to be talking with Michelle Morley on some topics that we don't really get to a whole lot of times. But one of the reasons I wanted her to come on is she's launching the Yes Women's Network podcast and she's got some amazing lineup. So I want to be able to let you know all about what she's got going on. So let me give you a little bit of her background. She's the founder and host of the Yes Women's Network podcast. They are relaunching Yes Women's Network, which is a company and a business that's been around for about, I don't know. Well, at this point, like 15 years. 15 years. I was going to say almost 20, but yeah, it's been going for a while. But you've got an amazing background because 35 years teaching, speaking, working with youth groups and women's organizations, 30 years coaching women's volleyball and athletics and coaching. but you're a huge advocate for women, menopause education, empowerment, personal development. And I've got one really important question for you. What in the world pushed you to want to now relaunch Yes Women's Network? That is a heavy lift, but it's exciting. So what is it that got you excited about that? We'll talk a little bit about your background, but what is it that made you passionate about doing that? I think that it got me as far as in a personal position, recognizing where I was at and wanting to do more. Like we've said, so many women reach a point, especially as they raise their family or in the raising their family, they get to a point of, okay, what more is there? Not that that role is not like so important and that it's so important, but I felt like there was more that I could do to contribute to. And I often felt like women feel stuck. And just having conversations with other people, it resonated. And I thought, okay, this is a space where I feel women need guidance, a support community. And so that's what brought me. It's interesting because there's a lot of individuals on our show, entrepreneurs, business owners, founders, but individuals that are hoping to really grow their life and get to the next level, but always a lot of their passion comes from their personal story. So you've had a successful career. You've got a family. You're a mother, a grandmother. Talk to me about, do you feel like a lot of what you did in women's sports and teaching and coaching has kind of set you up for this? Do you feel like that's part of what gives you the passion for helping other people? I think so. I mean, I come from a background where my dad was a coach, So it felt natural for me as I watched him and been in sports pretty much my whole life. And so it was a natural evolution for me to feel like there was an opportunity to coach. Yes, I love the game of volleyball, but I love the girls more. And I loved seeing development. and it excited me to see girls that are raw and didn't have their fundamentals and to be able to teach that. And it was very personal to me. Ultimately, I ended up coaching my daughters and to watch them grow in the sport. But it wasn't only about developing fundamentally in a game. It was also about who they became off the court. And so I feel like that put me in that position to be able to, I don't know, make it personal. And it resonates with other women and other people in that sense that I think it's equipped me. Am I an expert? Yeah. You know? Well, you're facilitating a pretty big cause. And it's interesting you said with volleyball athletes, even off the court. In business, that's a lot of times where a lot of driven entrepreneurs, women, men, they don't have that off the out of business balance as well. And so it's interesting because Yes Women's Network. Now, tell me exactly in your in your view, what is the reason and purpose and mission behind Yes Women's Network? Okay the purpose to me is and what we trying to guide in this is creating a community for women for growth for development for clarity for purpose And I feel like oftentimes women feel, like I've said, stuck. That's what Yes Women's is about, is to help women recognize what their passions are. Yeah. And to have that direction, that support, that community. And I think it's an important role that we can play for women to feel that kind of community going forward, whether personal or professional. Yeah, I was going to say, because at the end of the day, lacking clarity is something that business owners, leaders, and drivers that are driven, whether it's in business or in personal life, family, your relationships and things, you can be very driven, but still lack clarity and support and even direction, like you were talking about. So the Yes Women's Network, you decided to launch a podcast, and you're going to be interviewing some amazing guests. We've already seen some of those come in. And one of the ones was here today, which is why I want to take the opportunity to kind of sit down with you as you're being featured in one of our magazines. So talk to me a little bit about you have four pillars that you sort of have as the base foundation for Yes Women's Network, which, by the way, are probably pillars that extend to any organization or individual. So talk to me a little bit about those pillars. Okay. So we came up with the concept of faith, relationships, well-being, and finance. Right. And the reason being is we felt that it touched on those four. It's something every single one of us have to deal with in one way or another. Yes. Personal or professional. And that's why, to me, it's something every woman can relate to. Okay. So what's your faith basis? How are you grounded? Where does that take you? Your relationships, whether professional or personal, impact your day-to-day life in how, you know. I really feel like those are pillars that extend to any individual. This might be a professional, male or female. It might be someone that's at home, a home entrepreneur, whatever it is. So just so that I can get a feel for your personal background, your purpose, and even your thoughts around these, let's talk about the four pillars. Let's start with the first one, faith. What is your feeling on how someone can really identify that as a core pillar in their life? Okay, so I feel with faith that it's a grounding element in our life. So it gives guidance. It gives purpose. And so I feel when you have a basis of what your faith is, it gives you direction. Yeah. I think a lot of people think of faith as something completely outside of business or outside. It's another thing, but it really drives you a lot in business and in success as well, right? So I think that when you have faith or that you can have a sense of, for example, how you start your day can determine so much of how it goes, how smooth it is or how you interact with others. And so, for example, to meditate or pray, you know, that's something that I find to be of value. I think that anybody who has a basis for faith has some element of spiritual, you know what I mean? Yeah. It also takes them kind of outside themselves. A lot of times people feel like they're doing it on their own. People don't feel like they have really, you know, something outside of them that's supporting them sometimes when they're feeling alone and things like that. So there's a lot of purpose and North Star driven by that. What's the second pillar? Relationships. Relationships. Yeah. That's going to be critical to pretty much anything business or outside of business. So what are your thoughts on what Yes Women's Network will be focused on with relationships? So I would look at it in terms of personal relationships, whether with a partner in marriage or with your children, which these are to me fundamental. These are so important to have a balance in what you bring to the table as an individual in those relationships. Yeah. And your husband's a successful business owner, has his own podcast and things as well. We're going to have to get the power couple together, I think, and work that. But relationships, I think, these are topics that people don't realize how important they are until they don't have them as a pillar in their life. So it's very important. So faith and relationships, Wellbeing, is that the third pillar? Okay, what about wellbeing? Because you're fit, it's a big focus of yours. And I think sometimes people, whether it's diet, exercise, nutrition, peptides, you know, all kinds, there's so many different aspects of that. What's your feeling with wellbeing? With wellbeing, I didn't want it to be in a box. With like you say, fitness or nutrition or whatever, there's so much more to it. And just for an example, people have said, oh, you're fit, which doesn't always, that's not always the truth, right? It doesn't translate to well-being for sure. And so, yes, is it something that is important to me to be able to feel strong or to be healthy? Do I watch what I eat or drink or whatever? Not in the sense of obsession. Yeah. But at the same time, people wouldn't understand that I do have health issues that have set me back in the sense where yeah there was a time that I wasn sure I was going to make it And so I feel that when you look at well it encompassing so much more than health fitness whatever It's also how you feel, your peace of mind, and those things that bring it all together full circle. Yeah. And there may be individuals that are just very successful, but dealing with health problems or maybe even mental and depression and anxiety and all those, those would all fit into that category, right? Yeah. And so, like you said, you've had some health struggles of your own. How has that affected your business and life and family and everything, right? So when I first started, when I first started Yes Women, and that would have been in 2020 when we acquired it, I had a setback in 2021 where I was very sick with pericarditis. And so in a sense, and that was like for six months, very, very sick. And so I really thought, am I going to even be able to do this? Is this something that I'm going to be able to take on, add to my plate, whatever? and over time I just kept feeling like if I can get a handle on this, this is something I want to do. And so I think that's what drives people even when they have health issues. And yes, listen to your body. You've got to know when to be done and when to stop. But I think we're stronger than we think we are. Yeah, and sometimes having that purpose, obviously I can see how these pillars go together, right? When you have your faith and your relationships in line and well-being, that is really helping you to optimize who you are and the life that you can create and things. And I think the fourth pillar as well with finance, I mean, I think that's an area most people do not have any direction in even. So talk to me about finance. Okay. So this is another part of it that kind of fueled the fire for me. We had a friend who was in a situation in a marriage that was not good. And she was working, but she was scared to death to take a leap of, do I stay in this situation and can I take care of myself? And so I really, when I saw her, I thought, you are crippled and we need to figure out a way to help women have the confidence to kind of be to be able to be on their own financially, but they have to understand finance. And too often, the man is the one, right? That usually is the one that takes the reins for that. And I think that there's a lot that is misunderstood about finance. Well, you don't really have even education like that in school, in typical schools. I mean, this could be, I would imagine, extend everywhere from running business to wealth planning, estate planning, tax strategy, like you don't get any of that education typically, right? Yeah. And there's nothing worse than not having clarity in the unknown, right? That uncertainty has got to be hard. So that's a great pillar for sure. So I imagine with the podcast, you're going to be bringing in guests in each of those topics and those areas to be able to help and support. Who would be really the type of individual that would, I imagine the answer is all of women, but who is the type of person that's going to fit into this community that you're really looking to empower and support? Honestly, it's an invitation to all. You know, as I've gone through different phases of my life from 20s, 30s on, especially 30s on, that's where my focus is for women in their 30s on giving that kind of direction, that confidence in who they are as a woman. not only as a mother or a wife, but there's so much more to it. And so that's my direction to this is to reach those women who feel like there's more to do, there's more that they can contribute to in those different phases of life. So it's not just aspiring, driven women in entrepreneurship and business or home, but at every stage of their life, whether they're dealing with things or whether they're just growing through. I wanted to ask you what you feel comes up most common with what women are dealing with right now, struggling with in the marketplace, in business, and in entrepreneurship as well, because there is a lot of digital overwhelm. There's depression, anxiety, and these types of things that are problems people are dealing with. What do you see happen or what you see common for women that you're working with right now? I feel like one of the things that is that confidence to do what they have. I mean, because we all have, I believe, have something in our head telling us you can do this or this is what I want to do. So I think it's the confidence to be able to do those things. So maybe they're struggling with the self-confidence to do it, but they want to be able to have more to be able to. And taking that next step. I think it's it's scary to take that next step and to be able to have the resources to take the next step. I think that's what holds a lot of us back is do we have what it takes? Do we have the resources or is there even the need? I feel like there's a need for this, for Yes Women's Network. And so I think it can be far reaching but I feel like that kind of where women are is it set them back is that the competent just take that step Yeah Yeah And I think a lot of times it hard conversations to have We have some mutual friends that have also launched some podcasts and things that you don't think about unless the topic is brought up to talk about, right? I'm curious what your daily rituals are. What do you do typically yourself to keep yourself in flow and moving? And this could be faith, finance, well-being? What are your daily rituals that you feel help you when you're consistent with them? That's a good question. And I appreciate that because it actually sets me back in the sense of, okay, there are things I want to do, and then there are things that I do do, right? First and foremost is starting a day out with prayer. That is first and foremost something that, and it's important to me, kind of grounds me. My relationship with my husband and how we interact with each other and how that sets the tone for the day when he's off to work and I'm taking care of other tasks. But for me, day to day, one of the things I try to do is look outside of myself. And whether that is serving family, serving a neighbor, or even paying a compliment to a stranger. But those are things that I try to do. And interacting with people daily in a sense that, for me, my whole drive is am I making a difference in a positive way? And I believe that there is power in that, and I believe in the power of influence. Yeah, I think a lot of times we get so busy driven that we're wrapped up in our world. And the minute you can kind of get outside yourself, a lot of times it does give you direction and some clarity and also helps you through times as well. But I found that with a lot of successful entrepreneurs, that attitude of gratitude or the focus on giving back and things like that as well, it really helps carry them through. So that's interesting you say that. So what can we expect with the Yes Women's Network podcast? What do you have lined up? Is it a mix of hosts and guests? And what are you going to be featuring on it? This is so exciting to me, honestly. The podcast has been an exciting aspect of the business, of the community. What we're looking forward to, yes, we have different guests that are experts in the four pillars, you know, faith, finance, well-being, relationships. And that's exciting. And it's not just confined to this box of... Yeah. So we have a real talk. I mean, you guys get together and you have a couple of co-hosts that help you with that. And you guys have real conversations, right? Yes, we do. And that's what that's so fun. I love it. With Jody and Belinda on and we're able to have those kind of conversations and as well as experts in different fields. All those different areas, yeah. And I know you guys are planning some events and things, so we're excited about that. Maybe before we take off, if somebody is really kind of struggling, they do feel a lot of times like they're on their own. This could be a leadership organization, a C-level executive. It could be someone at home. But they feel like they're on their own. They're dealing with things, but they know they got more in them. What would be your message to them that you would want to say to somebody that's trying to figure out what to do and where to go? And they feel like they're on their own. Okay. I think it's important to recognize who you're surrounded by. And who is the influence in your life at any given time? And who you're surrounded by has such an impact on how you perceive things. And what you're even able to do. And so I look at that as, okay, what are your relationships? Who's in your circle? Yeah. And who do you know has your back? And actually pull from those people. What do they offer for you? And I think it's exciting once you're able to pull from other people and who you're surrounded by can kind of give you direction. Yeah, I agree. It's interesting because it's a great success principle that I talk about a lot, too, where if you can get around people that are doing or being or feeling in all of those areas, health, finance, faith, relationships, that are where you want to be, it's going to help you. That's why I'm a big believer in coaching and mentoring. But you also get this belief transference. You know what it's like when you're around people that just give you more confidence because they're doing it so that that transference of belief comes to you and then you feel more empowered and more confident in what you're doing, which is why your network is your net worth, right? And your surroundings will determine who you are. But I really like what you guys are doing. Even the community and mastermind effect of what you're trying to do for the organization itself lifting. So I appreciate you being here today. This has been a good conversation. We have a lot of exciting things coming up, so I look forward to bringing you back. So if you're listening to this, do me a favor, share this episode. And also, let us know what you're working on. I want to know what you're winning at. Let's celebrate some wins or what you're struggling with so we can figure out what we can do to help you out. That's the whole reason I started The Daily Mastermind. And remember, you're going to hear me say it a million times. It's never too late to start creating the life that you're meant to live. But you've got to move. You've got to take action. And so I appreciate you being with us here today. We'll talk with you soon. Thank you.
