Have you ever felt like you're waiting for the confidence to finally make your move, to launch your brand, speak on stage, pitch the client, or share your story online? Let me stop you right there because confidence does not come before the action, it comes after. So today on The Daily Mastermind, we're going to shatter that myth that you need to feel ready before you take the leap because confidence is built by stacking wins, and wins only come when you lead with courage. So in this episode, I'm going to walk you through exactly why courage, not confidence, is the true catalyst for growth. We'll talk about how momentum builds belief, how biggest leaders have started uncertain. And also, I'm going to talk to you about how you can rewire your mindset to finally get moving. So if you've been sitting on your dreams waiting for permission, this is your sign. Let's get into it. All right, welcome back to The Daily Mastermind. George Wright III with your daily dose of inspiration, motivation, and education. And today we're digging into the truth about confidence. What it is, what it's not, and how to truly build it. Because confidence doesn't come before the action. It's built through courage. So let's start off with that. Look, there's a myth about confidence first. And I kind of have applied this throughout my life as well. It's always like just lead with confidence. And in the back of your mind, your subconscious telling you you're not confident, right? Most people wait, though, and they act after they feel the confidence. And that's the problem. See, the truth is you don't get confidence before you start. And you can't just make it up. You build it after you start. That's the key. That's the secret. You do not start with confidence. you get confidence after you start. So, you know, successful people don't have it all together. They don't have all the answers before they launch. They just start. And most successful people you know, they started before they were sure about the outcome. You know this. I can attest to this myself, and I think you know as well, you can't wait for confidence. In fact, you don't need confidence to start. What you need is courage. Courage is what's going to help you to start. Confidence will come after that. You know, I could give you this example of the Daily Mastermind. You're listening to this podcast. We're 1,200 episodes in, five, six years now. Can even keep track It been so long But I definitely did not have confidence in podcasts Now maybe I had some confidence in myself but I didn have confidence in podcasting And if I had waited around until I had confidence and knowledge and belief I would have never started this podcast. The fact of the matter is I had courage and courage is what got me started. So what is courage really? Well, courage is acting in the presence of fear. It's not the absence of fear. This is the part you have to understand. It's a decision to move forward regardless of whether you're afraid. It's one of the reasons I have the poster and the prosperity pillars. And the third one is act in spite of your mood. Act despite how you fear or feel. So let me give you some examples. You know, there's ways of having, you know, sort of micro courage, you know, daily actions like posting and emailing or asking questions or getting in front of your ideal prospect. And then there's macro courage. These are things that take more courage. This is like investing and launching a product or public speaking, jumping up on stage. That takes a lot of courage. But Mark Twain had a great quote. He said, courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear. Let me say that again. Courage is the resistance to fear or mastery of fear. It's not the absence of fear. You don't wait until you have courage and there's no fear and then you act because of confidence. Now, as you build your confidence, fear will start to diminish at times. But here's the thing. I can tell you many, many times that even though I have paid some of the world's biggest names out there to speak for me, and even though I've spent millions and millions of dollars on professional platform speakers. I was never a speaker. And I can tell you, I was very afraid to jump on stage many, many times and did it anyway. And what happens is you do start to stack some wins and you learn that your courage will push you into an area that you're not comfortable with, that you're fearful of, but that the confidence will then come. And this is what I would say I would call stacking wins. Alex Hermose, he's really good. This is where I picked it up from him initially. It's stacking wins. When you stack wins, it will overcome and build confidence. How? Well, because momentum of action and courage, momentum, it builds belief, and your belief is what's going to fuel your confidence. Look, every win, no matter how small, reinforces that belief in yourself. And that what that confidence is reinforcing the belief in yourself So what the definition of a win Well think about it this way If you think winning is just like hitting the goal you wrong You've got to learn to redefine what a win is. A win is simply taking action, getting feedback, and doing it again. That's a win. That's where you shift your identity. That's where you shift your beliefs. Because the bottom line is this, when you define and set the parameters for a win, your psychology kicks in, right? Wins release dopamine. And dopamine will help to trigger that habit of winning. It's like training yourself to win. And so when you tell yourself a win is taking action, getting feedback, and doing it again, win. Taking action, getting feedback, doing it again, win. You know, Jim Rohn said, he said, success is a few simple disciplines practiced every day. Success is not hitting the huge milestone. Success is a few disciplines practiced every day. So for example, let's just take an example of this. Maybe you're waiting to knock it out of the park for revenue, but you need to focus on wins because wins will get you confidence and give you even more courage. So pitching a client every single day, that's a win. 30 wins a month means your confidence is going to explode. You follow me here? So stack the wins, use your courage, stack the wins, and let that momentum build your belief, which will build your confidence. And then now we can break down real quickly the actual formula for creating confidence. and it's kind of a cycle. I mean, this is my perspective, obviously, but the confidence cycle, I like to call it. It's very similar to the belief cycle. Here's what you do. The first step is courage. You start with courage. Then you take action. You've got to take an action, no matter how big, no matter how small. Use your courage, take action, get a small win. When you get a win, it will build your confidence. Then you'll have a little bit more courage. You'll take more action. you'll get a bigger win, you'll build confidence. You'll have more confidence, so you'll get more courage, you'll take more action, you'll win more, and you'll have more confidence. That's the cycle. This is the problem most people believe. They got to get their confidence by studying and planning and doing all these things. That is not the way to get confidence. Confidence comes from stacking wins, period, the end. And that starts with confidence or with courage. It starts with courage. So when you start with courage take that action get a small win confidence will grow You do that cycle enough times your momentum will happen Now where people get stuck is they waiting till they ready And when you wait you have already lost. You're stacking L's. You're stacking losses. You've got to train your brain and train your mind, train your body, train your habits to stack wins. So here's what I want you to do. I want you to try to do this. This is the strategy I want you to play with. Set three courage-based goals this week. Courage. You notice I said don't get three wins. Set three courage-based goals this week. Focus on action, not results. Just train yourself to focus on action. It'll start stacking wins and your confidence will grow by default. So this is the reason why I've had multiple sales floors over the years, thousands of sales reps. When sales reps aren't selling, they start to lack confidence. And maybe you lack confidence because you haven't been winning, right? What I do is I focus on action and activity. The activity, so I bonus and I spiff and I incentivize activity because courage, activity, small wins, build confidence, then you get back. And we all know that it's just a numbers game. So in life, in business, in everything. So set three courage-based goals this week. And when you execute on those, call it a win and just start doing that over and over and over again. Now, this is part one of this episode. And I want to respect your time. We've got a lot of things going on this week. And so what we're going to do is we're going to end our episode today, but tomorrow we're going to dive in exactly on how to practice courage and build confidence on a day-to-day basis. And you're going to walk away with some tools, some examples, and some things that I can do as well to help you build your authority, your courage, your confidence through authority. Does that make sense? So that's my message for today. I hope you will take me up on those courage-based activities. And do me a favor, share this show. If you haven't done it before, it would mean the world to me. I think it'll make the difference for other people.
