3 Things You Can Do Today to Move Your Life Forward

Listen

George Wright III, host of The Daily Mastermind, delivers this episode as a direct challenge to anyone feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to level up. Rather than a complicated system, he offers three grounding principles you can act on today.

Why the Present Moment Is Your Only Real Resource

Most conversations George hears these days circle around regret about the past or anxiety about the future. Neither of those places is real right now. The only moment where you have actual power is the present.

Getting present is not a passive act. It means actively retraining your focus: write reminders, put a note on your phone's home screen, and continuously bring yourself back. When you do, something shifts.

You are not your past. You can learn from your past, but you've got to get out of thinking about and having a perception based on past filters, past experiences, past beliefs.

Once you step into the present, you realize you have the ability to create your future. Not in some vague way but in the very next action you take.

How to Be Intentional with Your Time

Staying busy is not the same as being productive. George makes a sharp distinction: intentional action means doing things that directly move you toward where you want to be. Everything else, no matter how active it keeps you, is noise.

Think of time the same way you think about money. You can spend it or invest it. When you invest your time, you look for a return. The goal is to act from inside your unique ability (the work you are genuinely excellent at and passionate about) and question anything outside that zone.

Be intentional with your time. Be intentional with everything you're doing.

Ask yourself why you are spending time on each task. If you cannot connect it to a real outcome you care about, it probably does not belong on your list.

Finding the One Thing That Moves Everything Else

Gary Keller's book *The One Thing* gives language to what George has observed in his own life: there is always a first domino. When you knock it over, it triggers a chain of bigger and bigger results. The challenge is identifying which domino that is for you.

For George, that domino is the morning workout. When he trains, his mindset locks in, his energy rises, and his day starts with momentum. When he skips it, he spends the rest of the day playing catch-up.

There's always one thing for me that is the first domino in the string of dominoes. When you knock over that little domino, it can start to knock down bigger and bigger and bigger dominoes.

Your one thing might look completely different. It could be making a sales call, setting your alarm earlier, doing morning prayer or meditation, or writing in your journal. The point is not what it is for someone else. The point is finding the specific action that, when done, makes everything else in your day or week easier and clearer.

Why Most People Miss This

Long lists of daily rituals feel productive but often scatter your focus. George calls it the difference between being active and getting a return. People check boxes and feel good, but the boxes they check are not always the ones that matter.

The one-thing principle does not replace everything else. It gives you a sequence. Once you identify the single highest-leverage action in your life right now, the rest of the list becomes less overwhelming because you know where to start.

Action Steps

  • Identify what is stealing your focus: is it past regret, future worry, or both? Commit to interrupting those thought patterns today.
  • Treat your time like money. Before adding a task to your calendar, ask: does this give me a return, or am I just spending?
  • Pick one thing this week that, if done consistently, will make the biggest difference in your life. Not the most comfortable thing. The highest-leverage thing.
  • Consider reading Gary Keller's *The One Thing* if you want a framework for applying this principle across every area of your life.
  • Start your morning with that one thing. Build the rest of the day around it, not in spite of it.

It is never too late to start living the life you were meant to live. But it starts in the present moment, with an intentional choice, and one specific action that sets everything else in motion.

All right, welcome back to The Daily Mastermind. If this is your first time listening, my name is George Wright III. I am your host. I'm glad to have you here. Our goal and our mission at The Daily Mastermind is to give you that daily dose of inspiration, motivation, and education so that you can live your best life. I believe, I really do sincerely believe that it's never too late to start living the life that you were meant to live. But it starts today. It starts with making daily improvements to grow into the best version of yourself. And so today, I want to kind of speak from the heart. I want to give you some ideas and thoughts I had as I was working out this morning. But let's get you started with the Daily Mastermind quote of the day. The quote of the day, if you go to the Daily Mastermind mobile app, and if you haven't downloaded that, man, you've got to do that because there's so much content in there for free. The quote is from John Wooden. And John Wooden said, ability may take you to the top, but it takes character. Listen to me really carefully. It takes character to keep you there. It takes character to keep you there. And I think that's one thing that's missing in a lot of business today is that character. So with that being said, I want to get into some thoughts I have for you today. And as I start to do that, I'm also going to mention that we have an amazing event. Many of you that know me know that I've spent two decades in the personal development and financial education space. I've done events all over the world for some of the biggest names, authors, celebrities, experts, athletes, thought leaders, New York Times best selling authors. And so I've been able to learn a lot. I don't say that to impress you. I say that to just impress upon you that I have really looked to get mentoring from people that know what they're doing and have great ideas and strategies. And I want to provide that for you as well. But you know, and many of you have asked me when we're having our next event, and I've kind of put that off. I've spent most of our time with just our private mastermind group as well as the businesses. I've been so busy with the companies that I run and work with. But, you know, basically it's time. It's time to get an event going on. We have a March 30th event that's going to be coming up. It's a Mastermind Academy Live. Now, this is going to be a smaller event. It's going to be in Utah and it's probably just going to hold about 60 people. I've thought about the idea of opening it up to a live stream so I may do that as well but stay posted. Keep tight so you can see what's happening but just to give you a little bit of a flavor for that, we actually the topic of it because all of our academy mastermind groups as well as events have always been about mind money and business and more specifically about mindset marketing and money because I believe that you've got to have your inner game figured out You got to have that outer game strategy but you have to have wealth creation principles and things that you can use and that why we have the Academy But the Academy Live in March at the end of March is going to be all about growing your business with the power of AI Now, I know so many people have been listening and seeing all kinds of content out there for artificial intelligence. But I believe artificial intelligence or AI content is only as good as what you do with it. And so we're going to be talking about experts that will be speaking on how to use AI and social media, how to use it with strategies to create lead generation and sales, how to use it to be able to grow your business. And so it's, you know, as always, those events have mindset and they have wealth principles, but at the end of the day, it's going to be an amazing event. So here's what I want you to do. I want you to hit me up on the Daily Mastermind. You can go to Facebook or Instagram. You could actually go to the Daily Mastermind or I'm sorry, dailymastermind.com because that's the direct website and message me. Let me know if that's something you want to be a part of and we'll see who's listening to this episode because the tickets will be limited. They're going to be free. Just by the way, full disclosure, this is not a paid event. This is something I'm going to open up, but obviously as soon as I do, they'll fill out fast. So with that being said, I want to move on to a couple of thoughts I had and these thoughts are so important because I want to give you something that I believe, two or three things that I think will help you move forward in your life. If you're feeling a little stuck or maybe you're crushing it right now, but you've got to go to the next level, there's three thoughts that keep reoccurring for me in my mind, in my life, and I want to share those with you. The first is you've got to get present. You've got to get present. I have had, man, I got to tell you, 99% of the conversations that I have lately are people that are talking about the past, the problems, the things they're dealing with, or they're worried about the future. They're upset about the past or worried about the future. And at the end of the day, the only thing that's real is the present moment. So you've got to get grounded in the present moment. Do everything you can. Write notes. Put it on your home screen of your phone. Remind yourself continuously to get grounded in the present moment because you've got to realize that you are not your past. You can learn from your past, but you've got to get out of thinking about and having a perception based on past filters, past experiences, past beliefs. And the only way to do that is get in the present moment. And once you do, when you truly, truly get into the present moment, you're going to find that you have the ability, you have the ability to create your future. You have the ability to create your future and you have the ability to do whatever you want to do, but you can only do it in the present. You can't do it in the future. You can't be living for what you might have in the future. So get present, get present. The second thing I want to talk to you about is to be intentional You know in business a lot of times we get caught up in opportunities and shiny objects or goals and you know vision of where we want to go But at the end of the day, everything you do, because you have to create a vision, but you have to take all out massive action. But everything you do has to be intentional. If you're doing things to stay busy, if you're doing things because people keep hitting you with things to do, that's not intentional intentional is doing the things that directly lead you on a path to where you want to be so being intentional means why am i spending time doing this why am i spending time doing that now this this will drive into a concept you've heard me talk about before which is staying as much and as often as you can inside your unique ability or your your unique talent which is the thing that you're excellent and passionate about but outside of that I want you to really think about what you do on a day-to-day basis. I want you to start spending your currency of time like it's money. And when you spend it, you don't get it back. And so you have to find ways to be intentional with your time just like you do with your money. I've always talked about are you investing or spending your money? Because everything you do, even when it's spending it, could be investing in it. Meaning you could be putting your money towards things that will give you a return. So be intentional with your time. Be intentional with everything you're doing. So if you can stay grounded in the present moment and be intentional, the only other thing that I really want to recommend to you is that you learn to find the one thing that's the most important thing. You know, Gary Keller talks about in his book, The One Thing. And for those of you, I'm not going to get into detail of that, but if you don't know about that book, you need to go pick it up. Gary Keller talks about the idea that you have to identify the one thing that if you do this thing, it will help everything else become easier and get you where you need to be. I'll give you an example. I personally in my life, I know that I want to work on mind, body, and spirit. I want to work on money, business, and I want to work on my passions and mindset, and I want to work on relationships. And I have a bunch of things, you know, and that's just because I'm very, like I have four days and every one day that most people have. But there's always one thing for me that is the first domino in the string of dominoes, if you know what I'm talking about. When you knock over that little domino, it can start to knock down bigger and bigger and bigger dominoes. But it always takes the first step, the first thing, the one thing. And for me, that's getting up and working out in the morning. Because I know that if I work out, then I'm going to have my mindset on track. I'm going to have energy. I'm going to start my day sooner and all those things. When I miss a workout, do you ever feel like you're just playing catch up all day long? Yeah so for some of you that might be just setting your alarm For some of you it might be being part of a mastermind For some of you it might be making that phone call But what happens is so many times we look to just check things off the list. We look to just be busy instead of productive. We look to be active instead of get a return. And what I'm going to recommend to you is that you try to figure out that one thing, that one thing in your life that if you do that thing will help everything else become easier. And, you know, it might be the thing that you don't want to do. It might be lead generation. It might be doing cold calls. It might be doing sales. It might be doing contacts and networking. It might be, you know, waking up in the morning and having your prayer. It might be doing meditation. It might be writing in your journal. Sometimes when we write in our journal, it triggers all the other important emotions and vision and clarity that we need to move forward. but you find that one thing and you know we can go deeper into that another time where you can drill that one thing into each of your life like there is one thing in relationships you can work on there's one thing in um your your your body and your mind there's one thing in your business there's one thing you know but but i want you to start with one thing this week and i want to challenge you i want to challenge you to pick one thing that you feel like if you do that it's going to make the biggest difference for you in your life and it's going to start to make everything else come in line. So many times people come up with all this long list of daily rituals because they like to check the boxes. But I'm here to tell you from experience, and I think you know this to be true, that there's always one thing that really will make the biggest impact. I'm not talking about the one thing that'll get you the money you want or this or that. I'm talking about the one thing that if you do it, all the other things will become easier. It might be generating cash flow. It might be whatever it is. I want you to think about that, what that one thing is. You can pick up a copy of Gary Keller's book, The One Thing, that might help you as well. So anyway, those are the messages I wanted to share with you today. Get grounded in the present moment. Be intentional with your time and find that one thing. Just pick one thing that'll make a difference for you. And I promise you, you're going to see some results this week. That's my message for today. I want to remind you about the event. If you're listening to this show and you're interested and going to our event, whether it's live stream or live on March 30th, you better hit me up. Because, you know, as soon as I open it up online, your tickets will all be gone anyway. So hit me up. And then as always, I always respond to anyone who hits me up. So I'll even give you my email address. It's george at g3worldwide.com. George at g3worldwide.com. And I hope you have an amazing day. I hope you live with intention. And I hope that you remember that the only reality that you have is in the present moment. And that's my message. Have an amazing day.
