I’m going to start out today by apologizing for being a little MIA lately. Normally, our episodes drop every day, but for the past week or so I’ve been offsite at a retreat with a high-end mastermind group composed of hundreds of high-net-worth CEOs and entrepreneurs.

And I’ve got to tell you—it was an amazing experience. I’ll be sharing a lot of insights, interviews, and takeaways from that event over the coming weeks. But here’s the bottom line: the energy, insight, and breakthroughs that come from being surrounded by like-minded individuals are absolutely priceless.

The power of a mastermind isn’t just a theory—it’s a tangible, transformative tool for exponentially growing your business. Napoleon Hill once said, “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third invisible, intangible force, which can be likened to a third mind.”

That invisible force is what I want to talk about today—the true power of a mastermind and the even larger idea of collaboration.

Before we dig in, I’ll share a quick story.

While we were conducting interviews for a media company we’ve built to support various mastermind groups, I had the chance to meet Jason Redman—Navy SEAL, bestselling author, and an incredible individual. You probably know him; he’s got a massive brand online. I was fortunate enough to interview him, and I’ll be dropping that conversation tomorrow, so stay tuned for that.

It was one of those serendipitous moments that happen when you’re in the right room. Jason was actually scheduled to keynote at another event down the hall but saw what we were doing and jumped in. That spontaneous connection was a perfect example of the magic that happens when collaboration and proximity align.

So today, let’s talk about what a Mastermind really is, why it’s so powerful, and how collaboration is quickly becoming the future of growth in business and life.

Understanding the Mastermind

You’ve probably heard the term Mastermind before, but few people truly understand its origin or power.

Napoleon Hill, in his timeless classic Think and Grow Rich, described the mastermind principle perfectly: “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third invisible, intangible force.”

A true mastermind happens when two or more people come together in a spirit of harmony toward a common goal. When that happens, something almost magical occurs—a synergy of ideas, energy, creativity, and confidence that couldn’t exist in isolation.

Hill studied some of the greatest achievers in history—Carnegie, Rockefeller, Edison—and discovered that none of them reached greatness alone. Every one of them surrounded themselves with thinkers, innovators, and dreamers who challenged them to think bigger and act bolder.

That’s what a real mastermind does. It multiplies creativity, expands your vision, and keeps you accountable when you start to drift.

Today, so many entrepreneurs try to “solopreneur” their way to success. They believe they can build an empire alone. But I can’t count the number of times I’ve sat in a mastermind session and heard a single idea that completely shifted the trajectory of my business.

Sometimes it’s not even something said directly—it’s the spark that happens in your own mind when someone else shares their experience or perspective.

Because the truth is, proximity really is power. Who you spend time with shapes what you believe is possible and ultimately determines what you achieve.
