Today, I want to talk about something essential—your health. More specifically, we’ll dive into your body, nutrition, and what you can do to make a difference in your well-being.

That’s why today’s topic is crucial. Your health, fitness, and nutrition are directly tied to your quality of life.

Introduction to Gary Brecka and His Methods

Recently, I’ve been diving into the work of Gary Brecka. You might have heard of him—he’s making waves online as a human biologist and researcher.

Brecka focuses on longevity and anti-aging, and his insights have provided me with a wealth of valuable information. Today, I want to share some of those ideas with you.

He has developed a 10X Health Optimization Method, a system designed to help individuals extend their lifespan, improve their health, and even reverse aging. If you haven’t explored these concepts before, you’re in for some eye-opening science-backed strategies.

For those unfamiliar with Gary Brecka, he’s known for his work in optimizing health and performance. He has even been credited with extending the life expectancy of Dana White, President of the UFC. His Ultimate Human podcast features interviews with top scientists, athletes, and entrepreneurs, where they discuss cutting-edge health strategies.

At the core of his work are five key principles that make up the 10X Health Method. Let’s walk through them together, as I think they might change the way you approach your health and longevity.

Because let’s be honest—your health is your wealth. If you’re not physically and mentally at your best, your business, career, and overall life suffer.

I'll also include some real-world examples from Brecka’s program, showing how these principles have transformed lives. Let’s get started.

Key Principle #1: Oxygen Optimization

The first key principle of Brecka’s method is oxygen optimization—the foundation of peak performance.

Oxygen is one of the most critical nutrients for human survival, yet most of us don’t track our oxygen levels. Low oxygen levels lead to brain fog, fatigue, and poor decision-making—things that entrepreneurs and high performers simply can’t afford.

Brecka emphasizes the importance of measuring oxygen saturation in the body. You can do this with:

  • A pulse oximeter (like the ones used at the doctor’s office).
  • The Apple Watch Series 6 or newer, which includes an oxygen sensor.

Once you know your levels, you can work on increasing oxygen absorption through:

  • Breathwork exercises
  • Nasal breathing techniques
  • Hyperoxygenation methods

Brecka shares a case study of an entrepreneur who constantly crashed in the afternoons, struggling with focus and energy. After testing his oxygen levels and finding them suboptimal, he started incorporating oxygen therapy and breathwork. The result? Sustained energy, mental clarity, and peak performance throughout the day.

If you want to function at your best, oxygen intake needs to be a priority.

Key Principle #2: Genetic Testing

The second key principle is genetic testing—your personal blueprint for high performance.

Many high achievers experience fatigue, brain fog, and stress, even when they eat well and exercise regularly. What most people don’t realize is that these issues often stem from genetic variations that affect how the body:

  • Absorbs nutrients
  • Regulates hormones
  • Manages inflammation

One well-known marker Brecka discusses is the MTHFR gene mutation.

This mutation affects how your body processes B vitamins, which are critical for energy, mood, and overall balance. If your body can’t properly absorb B12 and folate, it can result in:

  • Low energy levels
  • Brain fog
  • Difficulty managing stress

Brecka shares an example of a client who felt sluggish despite following a clean diet and solid exercise routine. After genetic testing, they discovered an MTHFR mutation, which made it difficult for his body to absorb B vitamins. By switching to a methylated B vitamin supplement, his energy, focus, and stress resilience improved dramatically.

Here’s the thing: Your genetic code never changes. Once you test for it, you’ll know exactly what your body needs for the rest of your life. That’s why getting genetic testing done is one of the smartest things you can do for your health.

Key Principle #3: Cellular Hydration and Mineral Balance

The third key principle is cellular hydration and mineral balance.

Most people think hydration is just about drinking enough water—but that’s only half the story.

Entrepreneurs and high achievers often rely on caffeine and stimulants to power through their days. While effective in the short term, this can dehydrate the body and throw off mineral balance, leading to:

  • Fatigue
  • Brain fog
  • Adrenal burnout

True cellular hydration is about maintaining the right balance of minerals, including:

  • Magnesium
  • Sodium
  • Potassium

These minerals play a vital role in brain function, sustained energy, and stress management.

Brecka recommends electrolyte-infused water and targeted mineral supplements to prevent midday crashes and mental fatigue.

I personally started taking a magnesium supplement recently, and the difference has been incredible. If you struggle with energy dips throughout the day, focusing on cellular hydration could be a game-changer.

Key Principle #4: Hormone and Vitamin Optimization

The fourth key principle is hormone and vitamin optimization—aligning your body for maximum output.

Many entrepreneurs unknowingly suffer from:

  • Low testosterone
  • Vitamin D deficiencies
  • High cortisol levels (stress hormone)

These imbalances lead to:

  • Low motivation
  • Poor recovery
  • Chronic stress

When your hormones are off, your confidence, decision-making, and business performance suffer.

That’s why regular blood testing is crucial. I personally get tested every quarter, but even once or twice a year can make a difference. Most people never test their hormones, but it’s one of the best ways to optimize your energy and performance.

Key Principle #5: Breath Work and Cold Therapy

The fifth and final principle is breath work and cold therapy.

Chronic stress and inflammation are the biggest performance killers for business owners.

Brecka highlights breathwork and cold exposure as powerful tools for:

  • Lowering stress hormones
  • Improving circulation
  • Reducing inflammation

Techniques like:

  • Wim Hof breathing
  • Cold plunges

…can activate the nervous system, boost resilience, and enhance mental clarity.

If you’re dealing with high stress, burnout, or fatigue, incorporating breathwork and cold therapy into your routine can be a game-changer.
