The Power of Intention: 6 Keys to Build Authority and Influence

What if the way you have been chasing success is actually the thing holding you back? On The Daily Mastermind, George Wright III opens the week with a principle-packed solo episode drawn from one of his core mentors: Dr. Wayne Dyer. George shares six keys rooted in Dr. Dyer's teachings on the power of intention, showing how entrepreneurs can stop forcing their way forward and start attracting the authority and influence they want.

These are not abstract ideas. They are actionable shifts in how you think, show up, and operate in your business every day. Let's walk through all six.

How Shifting from Forcing to Allowing Changes Everything

The first key is to stop pushing and start attracting. Most business owners default to chasing: chasing clients, chasing media, chasing recognition. Dr. Dyer's framework asks you to flip that entirely.

George points to Gary Vee as a living example. Gary Vaynerchuk did not chase media exposure. He showed up consistently, delivered enormous value online, and let the opportunities come to him. The result speaks for itself. When you align with your intentions and focus on creating genuine value, the right people find you.

Why Clarity Is the Foundation of Real Authority

The second key is that clarity equals power. If you are vague about your brand, your message, or the unique value you bring, you will not stand out. The market and your audience respond to intention, but only when it is specific.

George recommends defining your unique selling position with precision: who you are, what you do, and why you are the right person. He cites Marie Forleo as an example. She built a massive brand by consistently and clearly positioning herself as a mentor for creative entrepreneurs. That clarity compounded over time into a household name in the entrepreneurship space.

What Happens When You Detach from the How

The third key is one of Dr. Dyer's core teachings: detach from the how. Too many entrepreneurs stress over the specific tactics and logistics of getting there, which actually limits what they are able to accomplish.

George's advice is to visualize the outcome clearly and let the path reveal itself. He points to Lewis Howes, who did not start with major connections or a perfectly mapped strategy. He simply began doing the work: getting interviewed, doing interviews, showing up on outlets. The brand followed the intention. Focus on the end result, not the mechanism.

How Vibrational Alignment Drives Consistent Results

The fourth key is vibrational alignment, which is about getting your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and actions all pointing in the same direction as your intention. George acknowledges this one took some adjustment for him as a detail-oriented, organized thinker. But the principle is straightforward.

If you doubt your expertise or undervalue your service or underprice yourself, you're going to be blocking a lot of opportunities that are going to come for you.

You cannot say you want to be recognized as an expert while your pricing, your content, and your daily habits say something different. Affirmations, daily rituals, and conscious habits can help you close that gap and bring all four elements into alignment.

Why Acting as If Is the Fastest Path to Becoming the Expert

The fifth key is one George returns to repeatedly across his career: act as if. Become the identity of the authority you are working toward before you feel fully ready.

The fastest way to become the go-to expert in something is start acting like the go-to expert.

Waiting until you have all the credentials or proof points before showing up as a leader is a trap. Brendan Burchard was teaching high performance habits online before his book High Performance Habits even existed. He acted as the authority, created the content, showed up as a leader, and the platform and recognition followed. You become what you consistently show up as.

How Trusting the Process Removes the Resistance

The sixth and final key is to trust the process. Dr. Dyer emphasizes letting go of fear and control and placing your faith in your vision and intention. George notes that doubt is the primary resistance that blocks what you are trying to build. When it shows up, redirect your thinking toward the clarity of your intention and the certainty that the right audience is out there waiting for what you offer.

You do not need to control every variable. You need to remove the resistance by trusting that your intention and aligned action are enough.

Action Steps

  • Identify one area in your business where you are forcing instead of allowing, and practice leading with value this week instead.
  • Write a one-to-two sentence definition of your unique authority position and use it consistently across all channels.
  • Spend five minutes each morning visualizing your intended outcome, focusing on the result rather than the steps to get there.
  • Audit your pricing, content, and daily habits to check whether they reflect the expert identity you are claiming.
  • When doubt appears, name it and redirect your focus to your intention rather than the fear.

Growing your authority and your business is a combination of strategy, action, energy, and alignment, as George puts it. Apply these six keys where you are struggling most and you will find real momentum building. It is never too late to start living the life you were meant to live.

All right, welcome back to The Daily Mastermind. George Wright III with your daily dose of inspiration, motivation, and education. And today we're going to be talking about, I want to get the week started out right, the power of intention and how entrepreneurs can really start to attract the authority and success that they want, like Wayne Dyer talks about. Now, as many of you know, I started the Daily Mastermind in order to give that daily dose and keep you focused on what's most important. We go through things like mind, body, money, business, lifestyle. But more importantly, because I want you to be able to create your best life and really unleash the potential and the greatness inside you. So on Mondays, I want to get started generally with overall principles, things for your mindset that you can do to really level your business up. and I've spent the last 30 years working with some of the greatest thought leaders and experts in the world. And one of those that I believe has been one of my mentors and someone that is really a foundational individual is Dr. Wayne Dyer. And Dr. Wayne Dyer talks about a lot of different things, but today I want to focus on, he used to really heavily talk about the power of intention. And so I have six keys that are thoughts that he's taught that will help you to really utilize the power of intention to not only build and grow the best life, but to build your authority and your influence as an entrepreneur. You know, authority is something that I've talked about a lot over the last little while, partly because we are launching the brand new Authority Formula podcast for Valiant CEO Magazine. But today I'm going to share with you six keys for how you can use the power of intention to build authority and influence. And I'm going to do this using Wayne Dyer's principles. And the first one is shift from forcing to allowing. Shift from forcing to allowing. Here's the bottom line. Stop chasing success and start learning to attract success. Many business owners, and you may be one of them, We push for success. We look for recognition and PR and clients and leads. But the most influential figures in business that I've learned from over the past 25, 30 years learn to attract opportunities effortlessly because they are in alignment with their intentions So here what I recommend for this key principle of shifting from forcing to allowing Instead of pitching or pushing or positioning yourself as an authority do it by just simply creating value and trusting that the right people will find you. A great example of this is Gary Vee. Gary Vee didn't chase media exposure. He just went out and shared tons and tons of value online and gave as much value as possible. and now he has opportunities attracted to him probably more than he could ever imagine. And I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. So the first principle is shift from forcing to allowing. The second principle is clarity equals power. You've got to learn to set clear, specific intentions for your branding and authority and for your business. See, the universe and your audience responds to intention. If you're vague about your brand or your impact, you're just not going to stand out. You cannot continue to be vague about what it is you're trying to accomplish and what it is you bring to the marketplace. So the strategy that I want you to think about is define your unique selling position. Define what separates you as an authority, who you are, what you do, why you are unique. Be very clear about it. A great example of this is Marie Faleo. She became a household name. I guess it's actually Marie Forleo. I've had her speak for me before and I always struggle with her name. And I tell you, she has an amazing, powerful brand because she became a household name in entrepreneurship by consistently positioning herself as a mentor for creative entrepreneurs. And as a result, she created a massive brand. So clarity will equal power. If you will set clear intentions on your branding and authority, you're going to be able to establish a pretty solid, powerful brand. The third example and the third strategy, key strategy around this power of intention is detach from the how. You know, Dr. Dyer talks about detaching from the how, meaning focus on the end result, not how you're going to get there. See, we stress too much on how to get the features, how to get the top media, how to get the best clients. Dr. Dyer talks about how focusing on the outcome of what you want will actually allow all of those opportunities that you're looking for to appear. And so detach from the how and focus on the end result A way for you to do this is visualize yourself on podcasts and speaking on stage and being the go expert know exactly what it is that you trying to accomplish and focus on that rather than the ways you have to get there Because sometimes when we focus on the how, we limit our opportunities of what we can accomplish. I look at different podcasts and different individuals that have authority like Lewis Howes, for example. He didn't start with a bunch of big connections and things. He just went out and started getting interviewed and doing interviews and getting on major outlets and doing the things that he wanted to accomplish. And along the way, he created a pretty powerful brand as well. And so he's another good example of that. The fourth strategy is vibrational alignment. Now, this is one I kind of struggled with a little bit. This is the idea though, that because I'm, you know, for those of you that know me, I'm a very organized, you know, detail-driven person, so the idea of vibrational alignment wasn't necessarily in my wheelhouse. But what it really is talking about is you have to align your thoughts, your emotions, your beliefs, and your actions around your intention. See, a lot of us say we want to do a certain thing, but our actions don't reflect it. A lot of us say that we believe we're the best at what we do, but our actions don't reflect it. If you doubt your expertise or undervalue your service or underprice yourself, you're going to be blocking a lot of opportunities that are going to come for you. So you have to get your thoughts and emotions and your beliefs and actions all in line with your intentions. And sometimes the best way to do that is to consciously program your conscious and subconscious mind. You know, affirmations, daily rituals, habits, things like that. So find a way to align your thoughts, your emotions, and your beliefs. The fifth key strategy is act as if. Now, you've probably heard me say this many times over my career, but literally become the identity of the authority and the future you that you're trying to do and act as if that's the case. The fastest way to become the go-to expert in something is start acting like the go-to expert. And even before you have the credentials, so many entrepreneurs get caught up by waiting until they have what they believe they're going to in the future, and it defeats the purpose. What they're trying to do is they're trying to become rather than acting as if and as a result attracting what it is they're trying to become. So create high value content. You know, share your expert insights based on what you know, and you know, show up as a leader because you can show up you can become a leader if you don show up as a leader and so you got to do whatever it takes to make this happen You know there are many many examples of this Brendan Burchard he a great one He was teaching high performance habits online before he even had the book High Performance Habits And now look what he's accomplished. And so that's a real big one as well. The last key principle I want to share with you is trust the process. You know, Dr. Dyer talks about let go of fear and control and trust the process. See, so many of us fear the things that we can't control or rejection or failure, all these things that are maybe never even going to happen. And what Dr. Dyer talks about is emphasizing trusting your vision, trusting your intention, and then removing all the resistance to getting you there. because whenever doubt creeps in, you've got to learn to redirect your thought towards faith and just the decision that what you're doing matters, the right audience is going to be there for you, and you'll be able to create what you want to create. So those are the six principles I think that will really bring some value to you. I hope they will based on what Dyer talked about. Let's go through them again real quick here. Shift from forcing to allowing. Clarity is going to bring you power. Detach from the how. focus on the end result, vibrational alignment of your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and actions, learning to act as if you've already become what you're trying to become, and then trusting in the process. Look, here, at the end of the day, what I want you to do this week is I want you to learn that growing your authority and your business is a mix. It's a mix of strategy, actions, energy, and alignment. But you've got to find some areas of your life that you can level up on. If you can identify the areas that you are struggling in and start to apply these principles, I think you're gonna find some great, great results and some leveling up that's gonna happen in your life and in your business. So that's my message for today. I hope you have an amazing day. Tomorrow, I'm gonna be talking to you about Gary Breckis' 10X Health Optimization Method. I think you're gonna get a lot out of that. We're gonna be sharing some new resources for you. I'll also put some links in the show notes to several places you can get more info on Wayne Dyer's information and teachings and trainings, if that's something you want to go deep into. And do me a favor, share the show. I'd really appreciate it if you would share this episode. And I look forward to talking with you a little bit more. Hit me up on The Daily Mastermind on Facebook, Instagram, and we'll talk to you tomorrow morning. Have an amazing day.
